New Xbox Series S Developer Tools Grant Games More Memory

Thanks to a new software development kit, Xbox Series S developers will now be able to create games that use more memory than ever before. The recent upgrade was implemented with the intention of giving developers more control over performance on the next-gen console.

US The Verge reported, this update is specifically for optimizing the Series S, which has lower memory and graphical power than the more expensive Series X. While the Series X has access to 16 GB of RAM, its smaller cousin has around 10 GB. Developers are further constrained to 8 GB, because around 2 GB of that total is used for the operating system. The recently released June Game Development Kit frees up hundreds of additional megabytes of memory. In a video explaining the updatethis additional memory “can improve graphics performance in memory constrained conditions.”

As pointed out by the Verge, developers told YouTube hardware experts

New Marvel Game Starring Captain America and Black Panther From Amy Hennig Announced

The new Marvel game from Amy Hennig’s Skydance New Media division is taking a different approach to the Marvel Universe, teasing a game set in World War 2-era Paris starring Captain America and Black Panther.

In a moody, cinematic trailer set to Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again’ it’s not until the end we see Captain America’s iconic shield and a brief glimpse of Cap and Black Panther facing off. The words ‘King,’ ‘Captain,’ ‘Soldier,’ ‘Spy,’ then flash across the screen before the trailer ends with a shadowy look of our heroes.

Check out the trailer below.

The teaser implies the game will take place across two locations, likely Paris and Wakanda, and star four heroes. While two of them will be Captain America and Black Panther, we also get a look at Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones and Nanali, the leader of the Wakandan Spy Network.

Nintendo shares rose 5% on Tuesday after the Japanese gaming giant said its new title surpassed a domestic sales record.

The company said sales of Splatoon 3 in Japan surpassed 3.45 million units — a domestic record for any Nintendo Switch software within the first three days of sales.

Launched on Sept. 9, the action-shooting game was one of the highly anticipated titles in Nintendo’s line-up this year.

The title’s success eased fears about an industry slowdown after a pandemic-fueled boom that saw people spend more time at home playing games. Investors are also concerned about the impact of a potential recession on the video
